Duke had the best multiplayer. You don't get shrinked by a shrink-ray, frantically trying to avoid being stepped on, only to have the effect wear off at the last second and blow the other guy to bits in MW2. Also it required a whole set of different skills as you couldn't aim with your mouse.
Up view, down view, strafe, 180 degree turn buttons were your best friends.

Then why the hell do I remember specifically playing with keys to pan the screen up or down to hit something. I am 99% sure I only used the keyboard as the game was launched from MS-DOS and no mouse was required at all.

Press 'u' to switch from keyboard look to mouse look. Looking up and down is weird though due to lack of perspective.

Nowhere is there a quote of anyone saying DNF is done, just that article from FileFront news, which doesn't seem very reliable. But in my article it clearly says: Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford tells the WSJ that his studio picked up development in late 2009 and that the game is currently in the "polishing" stages. And our articles were written on the same fucking day.

"Yeah, blame us for it if you want. It may change in the future and I don't know what will happen with it, but it was us. I stand by it too, as you cannot discount designing games for a modern world and part of that world is consoles where the bulk of the sales can be. And on those consoles you have a controller. We tried for a long time to support lots of guns but we simply could not find a nice way to map it to a controller, despite trying 4-5 designs. We gave it enough time and decided to stop swimming against the current and adopt what was basically the "standard".
It's not 1996 anymore."
Why don't they just do what Valve did for the console version of the Orange Box and just map multiple weapons to directions on the D-Pad? From what's been shown, the only thing that the D-Pad is used for is beer.

You wanted them to substitute different kinds of guns in for different kinds of beer? What're you, dumb?
