So.

Order of the Stick, if you don't know, is a Stick-figured based Dungeons and Dragons web comic. It's quite good.

It had a kickstarter drive to get the physical books back into print. I forget the original goal, it was something like 50k for everything to be back in print with no issue or something like that.

In it's one month run, it generated $1,254,120 dollars.

That's a lot of money. For a comic. A webcomic.

That's pretty amazing.

Contributed $10 a while ago.  Helps the comic I love, and I get a free magnet out of it.

Any idea when the address surveys are supposed to go out?

And I Marauder. Me scared big bright in sky, it make hot.

First you mislead us with promises of Cap'n Crunch, but then you go and create an account with a fake name on the Tripwire forums just to post such shameless advertising threads?:

That's really awesome

Only then did the elves begin to suspect that the dwarves were not bringing any Amontillado.

So I was in a hospital less than 24 hours ago. Today at school we had a guest motivational speaker, and it was a mandatory assembly.
When I fell asleep due to how exhausted I am from being hospitalized, the guy proceeded to call me out in front of the whole auditorium and kick me out.
I seriously cried.

Fuck motivational speakers.

Thank bajeezus I have great teachers that can cheer me up and give me the day off to sleep.

You should have called him out on obviously not being motivational enough if you fell asleep during his shitty presentation.

Then punch him in the face.

my game keeps crashing as it loads, (i have all the expansion packs including the apartment life) and i am hearing that it might possibly be a custom content problem? how do i remove custom content?

You should see about using the media to shame him. Picking on a kid for being in the hospital sounds like the sort of thing that could mar his reputation forever if you spread word around. Maybe the school paper, or even the local paper if you live in a small town on a slow news day?

if you're a student you get maya for free, IDK why you'd use 3d max over maya considering maya is the industry standard.

Ooh, I didn't even realize that Autodesk did that, thanks! I'm downloading Maya now, let's see how long I can fiddle around with it before I realize I have no idea what I'm doing and I go do something else

I got 3DS max for free from the same thing. Also I don't know what you're talking about, 3DS max is used extensively in the industry as well. And to be honest 3DS Max just looks a whole lot better to me.

1200+ hours in Source SDK, and the Source engine is still a mystery.

I remember fucking around with Maya when I was in high school. Even got a book about modelling, but never really got into it. Made a blocky old-school-looking sword and shield, but that was about it. Kinda wish I had time here in college to do more of that.

Pixar, Dreamworks, Disney,  Blizzard, Valve and Bioware all use maya afaik so that certainly seems like the industry standard. Also you'll see why maya is preferred once you start to model biologicals

Doesn't really matter what you choose, Maya was Max's competitor until Autodesk bought them out. Max does have a larger user base and way more custom scripts and tutorials then Maya, also Max has much better sub divisional tools for hard surface work then Maya. Once you learn the fundamentals the learning curve of switching to another program isn't that hard.

Also if you're referring to the gaming industry, Maya isn't the Standard. Mostly because there is no standard. In terms of user base Max has way more and has been around way longer.

We drag children off the streets, chain them up in the basement and whip them until they produce normal maps by hand. You know, the usual way.
