How can I make a trap that makes the map go dark? When triggered, the map goes from day to night

Yes, use an env_fade.
I tried making a day/night shift in the map but for some reason the stupid func_brush didn't block the sun light. (I wasted a damn week trying to get it work and it didn't.)
I saw one CSS map that somehow blocked the light_enviorments' light with a func_brush.
