My Steam keeps on crashing every five minutes or so. This only started today after I bought some games from the sale.
Anyone else experiencing problems like this or am I the only one?

mmh yeah gotta try that

edit:
deleting clientregistry.blob did not help. Can I safely delete the other .blobs (such as AppUpdateStats.blob) aswell?

You can delete everything in your steam folder except the Steam.exe and the steamapps folder.  Try that.

Be aware that if you delete your "userdata" folder, you will end up deleting all of your screenshots.

ok I also deleted the other blob but it still crashes.

It does NOT crash if I stop the The Witcher 2 download O_o

Wait a few days until the sale is over, I guess. Never heard it crashing for that reason before, though.

Do you have steam Installed on an external Hard Drive? I have it installed on that and it crashes whenever I open up my laptop.

no steam is installed on c:\

It's really weird. Guess I'll have to download it like this, hope the game will work after such a choppy download ^^

2-3 weeks ago my steam randomly froze when it downloaded games/updates. It became completely unresponsible but actually continued downloading. It stopped doing that a few days later though.

You could try changing the server you download from. I doubt it'll fix it, but it might.

I'd say it's worth it. Changing the settings for the thing that seems to be causing issues is always a good call, may make it reset or something, which could result in it working again.

The weirdest thing just happened. My steam is crashing again and I googled "steam keeps on crashing" and this link was #3.

Too bad I did not write down what helped the last time -_- (though I think it was a different problem...)
