Now touching you ever so slightly less.

As you may have noticed I have been altering thread titles left and right to slightly organize them. There is a method to my madness and I'm doing my best to make the appropriate changes. Here's an explanation I doubt you need it but here it is.

[WIP] - This is a "work in progress" if you are actively developing or bug hunting a map you should use this prefix.

[Released] - If the map/project is complete you should use this, please be careful after all for many their first "release" is not going to be the "final" release. Also I have been making the thread icons to smilies. Yay!

(month-day-year) - If you are doing a work in progress and want to notify big updates put the date after zm_mapname.

If you think you can get creative, USE ALL CAPS, make your map name try to stand out, or don't follow my nitpicky OCD guidelines (even if innocently I don't think people will not follow this out of spite or anything) I'll just edit the topic to something that fits better with the over all system.

Feel free to discuss but if things get nuts I'll just lock this. I don't think this will need to be stickied, it's not all that important.

month - day - year confuses me but thumbs up for the rest smile

It means, puta month/date/year in the subject title after the map name if you are planning to release / doing a big update near the future for the map. Either that, or it means when the big update will be completed (+-)

Maybe he means that the order confuses him, at least in Finland the order is: day/month/year.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Tumppu has it right. I couldn't really decide which to use as it'd probably confuse 50% of people not matter which way I did it, and so I just went with how we do it here.

Also, wouldn't it be a good idea to separate the maps from the new custom huds, models, etc? As in, more sections.

Naw, I think this is enough, any more subforums and places would just go unused.

Still, It would be nice Tongue. In the future, quite a lot more custom files will be created. And, it would be easier for me as well as I mirror all the files.

ultimately the decision comes down to the devs, but right now this forums is not majorly active, but active enough. I'm pretty sure if it was even less active than it is that people wouldn't visit it nearly as much as people do currently.

Put  [D]  in the beginning of thread titles with maps that can be downloaded.  examples:

[D][WIP] zm_icicle_b2
[D][Released] blah blah

That or make it so server owners know what maps are downloadable if they are WIP since Released would obviously be downloadable.

Sweet. Although I thought people would have common sense enough to figure this out on their own.

I support this idea, a simple search should give you every available map.

Have an update on the naming system that Cze suggested. It's mostly a defining alteration. It'll help make things more clear at a quick glance.

[WIP] - Map announcements, screenshots, and idea discussions. No download.
[ALPHA] - Your first few versions (unless you are a really good mapper), often need testing on server just to make sure it'll run period.
[BETA] - Later versions, where the base technical work is done, and play testing/tweaking is needed.
[RELEASE] - When you are done and preferably, no longer working on it.

So we'll drop using [D] and other []'s that sometimes get used, in favor of just a single tag. Please use this, and as always I'll be going through and changing them myself as  see fit.
