After I have seen and have played on a map "Red queen", in my head born idea: to make map - reconstruction of "the hive" of a Resident evil. For, "Red queen" recreates events of film very approximately.

In plans: reconstructing architecture of base and events of film as close to the original, as it will be possible.

Use new sounds: yes
Use new models: Totaly yes
Use new textures: yes

With all the textures valve gives you, you did well. I think some custom textures would make that train look nicer.


You're planning to go over most of the areas in the movie?
good luck on the laser trap haha.

Some say that he's allergic to the Dutch and that he only knows two facts about Ducks and they both are wrong.

Yes. Red Queen chamber, "dining room", offices and other... =)
Laser trap is a thing which I shall necessarily place on a map. Also I shall try to supply with its that sound.

Good job replicating the movie.

On the first room shown just remember to add some dangling cables and some metal wall textures on the sides that jut out and it will look perfect.  Wink

1200+ hours in Source SDK, and the Source engine is still a mystery.

If they have to be considered as an alternate reality, then they did a pretty shitty job of making a movie based on the video game.

also regardless of the resident evil part, they are still bad movies. The horror can be summed up as "Monster jumps at screen" thats their only trick and it gets old very fast. The plot is full of hole the characters are borderline retarded. The other characters are meaningless, the movies are just "Alice is awesome, Watch her be awesome".
They are stupid movies, and Im sick of people who have never played the original games calling themselves Resident Evil Fans, and the brilliant games being overshadowed by the crappy low-budget b-movies.
I will agree that the first one is way better than the other two and the second one is better than third.

But I don't think this map should be called Resident Evil. That name should be reserved for a map based on the games.  You could call it something like "zm_Umbrella" "zm_Umbrellaco" zm_genesis" "zm_umbrella_corporation"

In conclusion:  The Resident Evil Movies Anderson's Movies are for Newfags with bad taste in movies.


UPDATE: Not very many people enjoyed them. RE:genesis has a 33% on Rotten Tomatoes.
RE: Apocalypse has a 21%
and RE:Extinction has a 22%.

Yeah they must be loved by everyone. Im surprised they didn't get 50 Kagillion awards.
