Since there are a few people trying to get into the ZM Industries Team, I've created a sign up thread. I only want one post from each person. Post your:
Name
So that I and the team can properly address you.

Position of Choice
All you have to do is choose what you want to join the team as.

Experience/Examples
I do require that you show that you do know a thing or two about the position you are joining as. Explain what you can do for the mod's production and show examples of your work, otherwise if you don't have any work to show, I will immediately decline your sign up until you have some proof that can make a change.

Though, I have a lot of rules that you will have to abide by. Though I don't think some of you will have a problem with them, if you do, please scroll all the way down to for some support. I will not accept:

Beginners
If you are a beginner at your position of choice, I will decline your offer. I don't know if I'll might accept you in the future. I might if you have had some more practice with your chosen position and can show for it.

Playtesters
We have a plentiful community here, and when we need people to test the game, we'll find them easily. As it is, applying to be a 'playtester', however much previous experience you might think you have, is fairly useless to us, and only clutters up the thread. Please don't bother.

Mappers whom rely on entity-work
A few mappers have contacted me, asking if they can work on ZMI too. I asked for their work and they turned out to be either mini-game maps or maps that don't have much graphics too them. I do prefer that you show that you can detail maps as well as having an understanding of entity-work.

Plug-in Programmers
I have nothing again them, though they aren't required for the mod's development.
Suggestion:
You should revise the "No plugin programmers" part, integrated RTV, Votekickban, and Nominate would be a very good idea. Mainly to keep upgrades out of this iteration of the game.
Reply:
What are you talking about? Adding "integrated RTV, Votekickban, and Nominate" that server owners can easily add on their own time wouldn't stop them from getting upgrades. I don't have anything against upgrades either. So if server owners want these certain privileges, they can add them into their server on their own time.

If these rules have created an inconvenience for you, which was probably for the best, please message me on why it has and I will try to revise them to meet your standards.

Ok, I want to apply as a concept artist.
I've lead on one (failed) project, which i do not want to bring up, and I was one of the people who worked on athena, doing multiple things for that mod.
I can do both monster and weapon designs, allowing that we use original weaponry.

I have the capability to do okay. Like my part in Project Nightmare took me ages, yet I achieved a pretty good setting. Of course, Aus Karlos came in and made it much mo' better.

I believe this (admittedly little) project of mine gives a fairly decent impression of my work. Mind you, I have not yet found the time to complete it, so I can only provide you with a feature-incomplete alpha, but all of the basics are there. I also included one of the source files for this particular project; in this I would draw your attention to the fact that it is consistently documented for future reading/modification. What is more difficult to notice from the provided files is the safe multithreading and consistent hierarchical structure. This particular project was, of course, written in Java, but I assure you I am perfectly capable of holding my own in c++ and procedural languages. My decision to use Java was not due to incompetence with other languages, but rather so that I might not have to trouble myself with supporting multiple operating systems when providing my alpha testers (read: personal friends) with copies.

Addendum
I also have some experience with project planning and management... setting milestones, organization, TODO lists, etc. If such things need be accomplished, I could provide this service.

Refer to my signature for ZM works. My previous HL1 maps, and HL2 DM maps have sadly been lost.

I am also currently aiding in the level design of the Left 4 Dead mapping project Left4Winchester

Have mapped for OB engine with TF2, though my map ctf_underground has had work suspended for a while and is of low priority.


I specialize in derelict/destroyed settings mostly rural, and put a large amount of work into aesthetics as well as soundscapes and atmospheric touch-ups.

1200+ hours in Source SDK, and the Source engine is still a mystery.

I have been producing websites for years and years now.  Me and me team are not beginners. Our most recent project is http://www.voonix.org  As you can see this is not a simple CMS either. We have integrated data from our game servers into our website such as player stats and of course sourcebans. If you also have other dev's we can setup a code repository no worries. We have 3 web servers in different parts of the world: Australia, US and Europe. If appointed I will pay for hosting / domain name ,etc. Also again if appointed the new site will be hosted on our US serer as it has unlimited bandwidth. The other web servers will be used as mirrors for files ,etc. Voonix is a non profit website and we run game servers for Sourcemods to the Australian community and have been hosting a ZM server in Australia for over a year now. Our existence is purely for the benefit of the community.

I've made several sigs for random people, progressively getting better as I go. I'm not amazing with photoshop, but I'm not terrible either. I've been working with Photoshop for about 6 years off and on doing random things with it.

Some of my work:
A planet from scratch, used a tutorial
Biohazard wallpaper made using various filters and effects
Space-art I did using various brushes and stock photos
More Space-art using the same methods
Another piece of Space-art
I've posted some of my sigs here on the forums before, but here's most of the sigs I've done. The last page is really old sigs from when I started.

I don't really know if you even need a graphic designer, but I supposed I could do the graphics for the website or something like that. Fit me where you need me I guess.

Damn, trends hit this forum harder than Chris Brown hit Rhianna.

Experience.
I feel and other people in real life have commented that I am a good people person. I spoke to the valve guy to get ZM on steam.
Apart from that I have no experience, which is why I think that if I was excepted I would work closely with WCC.

What would I do?
Something goes wrong, I deal with the complaints. Answer questions, and try to keep the peace between developer and consumer.
I would help organize, and do any other task that needs doing but has no actual impact on development except freeing up that time for you, the dev team. If we where to implement an ideas section I would be willing to go through them each week/time period. Pick the best ones and present them to the dev team to see what is applicable.

Any other notes.
Yes smile I don't expect to be accepted as I have little experience, however the only way to get experience is to try.

I'm the Leader of Bisounours Party, a french mod (www.daftrobot.com). Even if the mod is not released, he is still 3 years old.
I can make maps, edit soundscapes, compile models, edit vmt and use proxies. Well, almost anything except coding or modelling.
I'm also used to subversion. Because of my experience with BP, I could playtest deeply your mod. I know what a developper want to hear (I'm serious), harshs critics included.

I'd like to be a concept artist for this team here. Or maybe a storyboard artist. Any sorta' artist! Tell me what to draw and I'll draw it! No naughty stuff.

Player/zombie/weapons rigging and animation  (playtesing of course, i need some way to evaluate my work)

Experience/Examples:
I am currently responsible for the upkeep of playermodels, integration and custom animations for garrysmod10 and have in the past been created many custom weapons playermodels and props for use in my servers. I am very experienced with the valve mdl file type and can easily and quickly create new rigs , player models, and custom animations for practically anything.

i am offering my experience on a request basis, meaning i am not asking for a heavy involvement in the project but i am happy to contribute any work necessary.

I work quickly and to specifications, it is likely that a large amount of content will be created quickly and only require small updates later in the project as new ideas come to fruition.

Proposed idea's:
*Status based movement animations ( eg: injured = limping controled by a single poseparam )
*Swimming animations
*Advanced animation overlays ( eg: heavy breathing, panic.. all controled by single poseparam )
*Heavily animated view models

and many many other idears, aswell as some promising but experimental work.
(i have sample's of above suggestions)
