The server didn't have FastDL, but it now does thanks to Nedstar allowing me test files with his web-server as well as mine.

You said it did before.

Oh well.

Well, if you can't kill someone very quickly (something pistols can't do) then you can't stop them from either shotgunning you or

(LAST WORDS) Andy P: OH GOD IT IS AJUNK HE IS PISTOLLING ME TO DEA-

And while things like "Creative" uses of barrels, psychology, heights, etc are possible, it isn't practical to expect every traitor to be able to pull off three successful kills that way.
But your focusing only on pistols, the equally available 'one-hit kill to the head' deagle is a great traitor weapon and lets not forget about the specialised menu weapons.
The whole point of being a traitor is that if your found out you probably will die pretty quick, although ive had a few games where i and loads of other traitors have slaughtered people, so you have to be clever and sneaky.

Ever had the max traitors, all of who have mics and good communication and then decided to go on a death squad rampage? It's rare sure but not that rare and it shows just how easily traitors could go off and blast people fps style. I enjoy doing it and it is very effective, but do you think that's how it should be played?

All im trying to do is suggest stuff that might make it easier for the innocents.

I think it's so effective because it's so rare. People don't exactly suspect semi-organized take downs, they suspect something subtle. And when they become aware of it they are slow to organize some show of a group to counter the traitor group, as numbers usually wins.

Oh please. People just don't suspect to get their head blown off.

Now i know people have been talking about how giving any sort of upgrades (like the traitor menu) to innocents was a terrible idea due to the fact that you could just pull the weapon you picked out and you could prove your innocence. HOWEVER, i have a slightly better idea for this:

instead of weapons, make them death oriented. make an upgrades menu like this:

Loud Mouth - scream extremely loud on death, no different sound or volume, just travels farther (2X or 3X the range, need input). (Weakness: killing someone with this with a knife will simply make them die like normal, with no sound at all)

Blood Pressure - When killed, you burst with blood, and if anyone steps in the blood for 10 seconds after your death, they leave tracks of blood for 10 seconds. (Weakness: killing someone with this with the flare gun or crowbar will not trigger the blood explosion)

Flame Retardant Suit - after you die, a small red band appears on your body's arm. (note all that noticeable at a glance) and with this on, your body takes 2 flares to burn rather than just 1. the red band is to make traitors more aware before they burn a body and waste their flares. (Weakness: pretty much just not having any of the other perks Tongue)

Words From Hell - this perk gives you an extra 1-2 seconds (still deciding) to type or talk to living players after you die, so you instead of seeing this as your last words:

(last words)Blan21: it's i.....

you will get this: (last words)Blan21: it's ibor....

This perk also works with voice chat as well so you get get 1-2 extra seconds to tell who it is before you die.

(Weakness: assasinations, so they dont have a chance to talk)

as you can see, i cannot just prove my innocence by pulling out a weapon, i must die first. ALSO: the traitors have this menu, but cannot use it, the icons are just blurred out (this is to prevent people from asking people to say the description of the perks to tell who's innocent, like the old "spell innocent" thing)

there is also a small added benefit for traitors, no one will ever say "he's standing still! he's picking his equipment, TRAITOR!!" again

he posted this on tdr's forums and i thought he had some good i deas so i posted em here.. blood pressure might not work since blood is client side (i think) lol..

Death sounds play when you die. This seems kind of useless, all it does is make someone farther away hear a death. It isn't that hard to figure out "John hasn't talked in 5 minutes, i think he's dead."

Client side and this is stupid anyway, given the limited number of routes to take from a crime scene.

Meh, pointless. It combats against 1 of the 5 traitor items, and even then it just makes them waste 1 more ammo.

Ugh, TERRIBLE idea. Getting the better of someone by jumping from a corner and shooting them in the face is now discouraged, as are knife kills as they can simply turn around. It also alerts that you've died and where you are, pretty much making the game incredibly unbalanced. Even with long-range stuff, if you see someone you can say "It might be -name-". Awful.

It's basically just like keeping your baby teeth when they fall out, except its a foot.

These upgrades would make innocents more powerful, but not more fun. The complaint is that innocent players are waiting to get shot, and these upgrades only give them a small bonus when they get shot. So it doesn't really improve on that.

Ill be honest, most of the time im just waiting to be shot because i dont mind dying as an innocent, waiting to be traitor is what most people do.
Also people themselves make the innocents less fun, the whole locking themselves in a building and ordering others to get out, while fair enough, means that people are increasingly forced to be antisocial and hide by themselves making them easier to pick off.

One traitor in a group of 3 or 4 people is less likely to do something unless he sees a perfect opportunity. This is one of the reasons why i love the thing so much, the lab feature is something id like to see more as it gives the innocents something to do besides the usual and it can be used tactical weapon against the traitors.

As an example i once had a game with 9 people meaning 2 traitors, anyhow we managed to test 3 of us, myself included, and this meant that we could all go off and barricade together or just as a team roaming around and in fact this won the round for us.

Next round the traitors revealed themselves too quickly as these new traitors didnt want to suffer the same fate as the other ones last round, so they rushed to the lab and started trying to kill people, unfortunately for them this got them killed from behind as someone else was bringing a test kit in and saw them.

So when Ajunk said in the other thread about an anti-camping grenade similar to smoke, how about a tear-gas or poisonous grenade that flushes people out?

That actually sounds fun, but I think c4 + radar is enough of an anti-camping measure.

This is very, very true.

When I played I didn't mind being innocent.
In fact I liked it. The paranoia that any one person could stab you in the back, forming alliances, deducing who is what, thats all awesome.
