Yes and no. From a game design standpoint, it brought new ideas and variations of game genres into the fold. But unfortunately brought the lazy game design attributed to the shooter genre and stale mechanics, story, level design, etc.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a steamworks game, so it'll be able to be registered on steam.

Well we all probably know by now but for the days leading up the the release of Sword of the Stars 2, the Sword of the Stars Complete Pack is on sale for $5.  I highly recommend you get it, it is well worth the price if only for the sake of nuking Space Dolphins and making ships dance with gravy guns.

...well with everybody having moved to L4D2 and the L4D campaigns coming to L4D2 too it is pretty obsolete.

Me and a friend thought about getting left4dead2. As far as I know I can get the uncut (german version is cut) by receiving it as a gift from someone outside of germany.

Soooo... is someone willing to buy two left4dead2 games for me and my friend? I will send you the money you paid!

The sale is so good I accidentally bought two adventure games I'll never even play. I bought Scratches, Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper, Zombie Shooter 1 and 2, and Vampire: The Masquerade.

just wanted to confirm this, I got my L4D aswell from someone here and it is uncut

Why would you buy VTM : Bloodlines ?
To give money to the publisher who made sure the developer studio would go bankrupt by having them release the game in a buggy state at nearly exactly the same time as HL2?

Because I heard it was a good, atmospheric and fairly fun game that I wanted to have on my Steam account so I can download it anywhere?

Sure, maybe the money doesn't go to the developers or something. I could just pirate the game, but I would rather pay money to have games on Steam just to have access to them anywhere without having to keep track of the files/discs.

Well I do agree with Psycho's boycotting of a publisher with disgusting practices, I feel the need to buy my games on Steam to fulfill some weird karmic balance of all other mediums I pirate, mainly the literary ones.
